Outdoor tiling - DONE!

About 5 months ago we purchased a great rectified limestone paver from Amber Tiles during one of their sales. Until now, they've been sitting in the Amber warehouse while the builder has been trying to find a pesky water leak in the rear upstairs balcony.

With Christmas approaching, and over 100 people coming through the house for various events over the weeks till Christmas - we figured we might as well tile - who knows when the leak will be found!

Trying to find a tiler before Christmas was a nightmare - the DiLorenzo tiler who did our internal floors (through the builder) was too busy. I called a few others from the Yellow Pages and Gumtree and most had no availability.

I finally found an ad on Gumtree for Tohmeh Tiling Services, West Hoxton (0417 227 890) - gave Sam a call and he managed to fit us in and gave us a great price - $40/m2. The other quotes I had were $50/m2 (though the guy didn't have time before Christmas) and $70/m2.

There was no extra charge for narrow (1.5mm) grout joins or the fact the tiles were large format (bigger than 400x400) either - I remember paying a heft sum for both of those via Wisdom and DiLorenzo.

Rectified tiles can be tricky because the edge is very sharp and lipping can easily occur (I have a few instances inside my place). However, I'm more than happy with the job - it is perfect.

Ok - so enough of my ramblings - here's what you've been waiting for - pictures!
