Woohooo - signs of real progress!

Stonecutters Ridge is being developed by Urban Pacific - a subsidiary of the mega-giant corporation that is Macquarie Bank.

While on the phone to them today (about something totally unrelated) - we got some great news! Greg Norman will be there for the official "sod-turning" and media launch on the 21st of June to signal the start of full-scale earth works of the housing estate and golf course.

Apparently they are already doing small stuff like soil testing, filling in old dams (they will be building some new ones) and removing asbestos. The first stage of the estate used to be a huge chook farm! No evidence of that now (though there is on Google Earth). We are lucky that there has never been anything where our block is situated - simply grazing area for cattle - so no worries about asbestos or buried foundations on the site.

I am yet to ask whether we will be invited to meet Greg - would be sort of cool if we were!
