Our tender appointment with "R" at Wisdom Homes went very well - though it was a marathon meeting at 3 hours! We had lots of small things to add, change and delete - from window positions/sizes/styles to requesting the fancy bathroom mirror lighting that we saw at a display home and making the house even larger! We requested an increase in the width of the garage and kitchen.
"R" was very patient with us and our questions - but he said it was better to be thorough at the beginning than make changes during the construction phase.
Two years ago when we were thinking of how much we would spend on our house - the figure of $350,000 was our budget. Of course - two years later, we've saved some extra money for the house - but there always seem to be more things we'd love to have - and luckily so far we can afford them :) The rule is that anything structural we have to do now - but things that are cosmetic - we'll leave those to later.
For example - we'll stick with the builder's carpet - as that can be changed in future years, but tiles have to be the best ones right now - I don't fancy re-tiling the ground floor in the future!
We now have a 2-3 week wait while they prepare the plans. In the mean time - next weekend is the Sydney Home Show!
Thanks to the forum at Homeone - we have free tickets to go along - can't wait to see what sort of new items are availble.
